I like being able to fire people who provide services to me. If someone doesn’t give me the good service I need, I want to say, you know, I’m going to go get someone else to provide that service to me.

GOP presidential contender Mitt Romney, on why he believes that people should be able to purchase their own insurance and give companies an incentive to provide good service. (via officialssay)
Yeah having the freedom to choose between the company who charges you way too much and tries as hard as possible to not pay for any of the medical attention you need and the company who charges you slightly less while succeeding more often in denying you coverage for the medical attention you need is indeed the freedom for which many have fought and died. This is America, just because you poor slobs have to die easily preventable deaths doesn’t mean that the good rich white folks like Mitt should have to give up their right to pay prices you can’t afford for the rare, possibly mythical, good health insurance. |
